I love roses! My wedding bouquet will be composed of champagne roses and ivies. This should suit well the tightly fitting mermaid shaped wedding gown - that I'll be renting, ecologic, I love it that way;)

Susu, the champagne roses and ivies, and the wonderfully fitted mermaid shaped wedding gown that you have chosen for your wedding seem like a dream... come true. incroyablement élégant!

Oh isn't that so true! what a great quote....

There are so many rosebushes in my neighborhood, of all colours, and they are at their peak right now...I love to look at them all as I walk my dog...

Fancy roses do have that look, now that this quote pointed it out to me. But 'Old Roses' don't. Sometimes they are called Heritage Roses.

My husband loves to grow 'Old Roses.' And I love to photograph them. :-)

You commented on one of my 'Smilnsigh' entries... "i'm not sure just to let it be or try to turn it off, womanly charms that is. silly i know. i'm open to any words of insight."

I don't claim insight, but I do have opinions. :-)

I feel it's logical to demand all, which all human beings have the right to. Men and women. And that takes care of 'equal rights.'

But I don't feel that women should "throw the baby out, with the bathwater," either. We can have the rights due us, and take care of ourselves. Thus being be an 'independent woman.'

But at the same time, please don't deny ourselves {or receptive men}, the fun, of the use of our womanly charms. Honing the perfect use of them, can be the work of a lifetime. :-)

Just my thoughts... But I bet Lavina would agree with me. ,-)

Lavinia i am still in awe of the misty morning walk you had with Bebbers in the park. ...and there are rosebushes as well... so divine!

Mari-Nanci i'm glad that you liked this quote as well. for some reason yesterday while stumbling across this quote it made me pause and consider...

thanks a bunch for the information you shared about 'old/heritage roses.' i think when i read yours and Lavinia's blog it awakens a love of nature that i have that i thought was lost here in the big city.

and i really appreciate your opinion on the question i posed. i can see how being a woman who can take care of herself as well as enjoy the pleasant wonders of being a woman can both happen at the same time.

merci beaucoup...

L'air du temps and Mari-Nanci--- I do agree, wholeheartedly, with Mari-Nanci's words...I'm thinking of doing a post on the very subject...I'm of the firm belief that men are men and women are women and 'vive la difference"...

(I'm going to post this over at smilnsigh too!)
