sounds at home

home is where the heart is... the heart also makes a wonderful home.

music at home. have you listened to any good music lately? i recently bought music by enrique iglesias. hold on, just one moment...
only in my humble opinion, i don't have a sense that his music is deeply good (how's my english?). but i've given into something... his voice.
there's something in his voice that gets me. has this ever happened to you? a voice, a look, a gesture touches you?

Jorge, hate is such a strong word, especially for someone i imagine you've never met...

at the same time it's about that little something that just gets you and you have no idea why.

has this happened to you ever...

"hate" doesn't have to be a stronger word than, let's say, "love". i hate enrique iglesias because he earns millions "singing" shit just because his father is julio iglesias. and i hate julio iglesias for many irrational reasons (what an oxymoron!), and his grandfather as well... it's been so many years having to see and hear them here in spain... awful!

but i "love" scarlett johansson (do i?)

in general i hate phony millionaire singers, as long as talented musicians (like a friend of mine) cannot compete with them and with the bloody music business industry.

'love' is indeed a strong word, in my opinion.

who knew that someone or someones like the iglesias could strike such a chord. (funny to even think of their name translated into english)

we all have our journeys to travel. so the iglesias have millions... gabriel garcia marquez said in an interview that he would not wish 'fame' on anyone, it's the worst. does your friend the muscian have peace from the crap of the music industry? does he have the freedom to create without the pressures to make more crap to satisfy the music industry? i wonder.

the gorgeous thing is that we have the freedom to create as we like. now fame and money is another thing...

so you love(?) scarlett johansson. she's love..ly. have you seen the new woody allen movie, vicky, cristina, barcelona? it's worth seeing. i wish the story was a bit more exploratory and rich. i like very much the idea of all the characters, i just wanted to see more of them. and okay they were speaking castellano instead of catalan in catalonia... but it's all pretend right? ...just for fun.

Jorge...just had a thought. when i wrote this post i was thinking about that little thing that gets one, without rhyme or reason. i was thinking more along that feeling in a fun way. but who am i to dictate. it seems to me with the iglesias there IS that thing that gets to you... though i can see you know exactly why...

Oh I love Enrique...there is a very appealing quality in his voice....I know exactly what you mean....I love that little boyish sob he does every once in a while...his voice is soulful....I like his dad too.

Mostly I listen to his older stuff...I am not up on the new music scene...

Hey, it's so funny that you "confess" your weak point for Enrique... you know, I have twirled around - for some time already - the idea of buying his newest CD, the first time ever that I desire some of his doings. I especially like what they play here in France, a duo with a lady singer called Nadya. And, his is pretty cute too, just in thinking though, because of course my dear hubby is the cutest for me;)

hi Lavinia, i must admit i am surprised to hear from you and Susu that you know what i mean. i thought i was the only one. but i guess millions screaming at concerts should tell me other wise. there is something in his voice. and i don't mind when he says 'let me be your hero.' i'll have to check youtube for the boyish sob. intriguing and fun!

hey Susu, you too get me. cool. i haven't checked his website, but when i check someone's website it helps me decide if i want to buy the latest cd. i bought his 'best of.' so funny that he would have a best of at so young an age. i love it when we can just let go and enjoy, like eating candy. no nutritional value, but fun.

hola Nuri,

it is said ignorance is bliss! it quite possibly could be, since i keep hearing how the iglesias are hated.

enrique is just a guy who's voice i like. and it's strange because it isn't even his singing voice i like, it is a certain intonation within his voice that i like.

on the contrary, i like the music of carla bruni. her music to me is simple and sweet. but it seems many of the french, and even many spanish persons hate her as well. i heard her music first, and learned of her 'story' later.

like and dislike, love and hate is a funny thing. many folks think that george clooney is gorgeous, he turns my stomach upside down in not a good way.

i think that's just the way it is. somethings and somebodys we like, and others we don't. sometimes we know exactly why, other times we have no idea.

if i had my way, rap music as it exits today i would make it disappear. i dislike it greatly. i like the 'old school stuff,' though.

but the music stores i think at least get one thing right. there are thousands of choices to choose from. we walk in and choose what we like, and leave the other thousands for others to take.

but maybe those days are almost over anyway. i might be one of the only 2 persons who still buys from music stores...

but i think i get it. there are persons and things that i don't like at all, and others love, and the other way around as well. that's just the way it goes...

Guapa.

Besicos,

nuri
