i went to finland once, and then again a few times after that. there, this city girl counted lakes, and walked in the woods... rowed on the lake in a canoe, and picked berries in the woods. and too waited until the others came back from fishing with the catch of the day. we transformed freshly caught fish into the most delicious kind of fish caserole (though i had nothing to do with it). i did have something to do with the berry pie cause i helped to pick the berries...

Ah Finland... the land of fairies... lakes beyond imaginable. It is a sturdy place to have roots in. Even when afloat in a big city, I feel that belong somewhere. Now more and more distant, but still somewhere.
It touches me deeply that Finland touches you, dear. Not all know to appreciate her beauty. Yet she is kindly, quietly, discretely and wonderfully unique. Just like some of its people. And if you love them, they'll love you back. Forever.
Dear Susu, when i am in finland a feeling comes over me, i really wonder if i was finnish in another life:)i feel so at home.
i simply adore the silence and simplicity, beauty and genuineness of finland and it's people. it really is a special place... i adore it.
but then You know this...i imagine it is a wonderful place to begin, and then set out on the world with such solid and beautiful roots...
I am envious, you know. I have always wished to go to Finland, and haven't had the chance yet. How beautiful your trip sounds. Love to you, dear friend.
Angie, dare we dream of all going together? we might have to make a mini european tour of it... london, paris and finland...
